Pet peeve with the forum software

Yes, I know this issue has been raised before. But, it is really annoying that the forum text editor does not understand \n as a line ending character, apparently it only likes \r. Entering \n (which is the default when you press "return" on a mac, and probably other *NIX like systems) causes a new line to be entered and then jumps the cursor to the start iof the first line of the editor window.  This is clearly a relatively minor matter, but it is also very annoying.  Sure, I can press option-return, but that is something I have to do in only one instance, use of this forum.

End of flame, as you were.

You can also (as I think has been noted before) switch to th "plain text editor" (right below the input window) which disables the JavaScript and gets rid of the issue allowing you to type as normal. Considering everything else the team could work on and knowing it has several known work arounds personally I rather see them work on those items instead of trying to swap out or customize a web text editor (ckeditor incase anyone wants to know and wants to push a patch upstream to them for it that will help the global community)

Thanks
Thanks Darryl. Better than a lump of coal... I guess Conrad got picked to play the Grinch this year wink

I figured it might be a configuration issue and really wasn't asking for a major effort.

And, thanks to Conrad too. I really do appreciate the work all 4 of you, plus many others, are doing for this project.

Happy Holidays  - wb6tae

(And what a pleasure it was to just press return.)

Have to admit I wasn't expecting it to be a config issue.

Guess I haven't played with CKEditor enough recently to know these items, I better stick to node issues :)
