Pair of 5-ac devices: SNR 57 dB, Max 54 TxMbps

I set up a pair of 5-ac devices about 40 feet apart in the backyard.
I am getting a SNR 57 dB at 10 dBm on each device, but only 54 TxMbps.

I was hoping to see 156 or 173.3 TxMbps and certainly no less than 130/144.4.

What could be wrong?

Chuck,
What bandwidth and distance settings are set on each node?  Are you using IperfSpeed for your speed measurements?

Hi, Tom:

Thanks.

channel 145 @ 20 MHz, max distance 1.86 miles (3 km?).
The SXTsqG-5-AC and LHGG-5-ac are about 50 feet apart.
10 dBm at each end, so as to rule out distortion at high power. ;-)

Using the node's cgi-bin/mesh TxMbps displayed.

Briefly this morning I had 144.4, but don't remember if both ends were 5-ac, one end may have been 5-n.

This afternoon I set up both 5-ac devices in the back yard.
Have now disassembled the set-up.
Test may resume Monday.

Try IperfSpeed on both units for a "true" reading
Suggest trying IperfSpeed or some true throughput speed measuring software to get a reading on what's really happening between the units.  Those "ac" units should be screamers.
