Hi,
I had a M2 fail to offer a web gui recently, I telnet in and see squashfs file errors galore.
After replacing the destroyed reset button, I reflashed the M2 using tftp, back to beta2 nano factory and this restored the node to working condition and no more file system errors, (for now).
I expect this problem to come back eventually, however, I noticed that the red LED no longer lights up after bootup.
the node appears functional in every way except for this LED issue..anyone seen this before?
tnx

The fact you mentioned a destroyed reset button ( I believe, unless I'm confusing your post with a different persons you mentioned at one time the device arrived that way to you when you purchased it from a previous owner?) and file system errors, makes me suspect the hardware has possibly been mistreated at some point in its life and could possibly be damaged somewhere and I would somewhat question considering the device reliable for emergency communications purposes and wonder if the flash chip has been damaged (which can cause all sorts of issues)
The LED should illuminate when your node receives another node, so the obvious first questions are "Does the node see another node on the same frequency and RF bandwidth and list them in the Neighbors list of the mesh status?" if not it should not illuminate the Status 4 (Red on Ubiquiti) LED (It is becoming more common that networks are switching to 5MHz or 10MHz but some still run on 20MHz)
I have many nodes around my QTH, so I have never seen the red light not come on..., but here in Riverside in my office, this device cannot see any nodes at the moment..
So, if I read you correctly, the red light only comes on when it can see another node? I never noticed this condition due to the dozen or so nodes at my QTH.
That could be why it's not on then,..no other nodes available here in riverside right now.
tnx..!
Yes, this was purchased used and cheap and the reset button was smashed to bits...I never needed

Just an FYI - the TP-Link CPE 210 or CPE 510 nodes, which are similar to Nanostations, do not display a red light.
I am looking at a CPE 210 that is in a mesh with Nanostations. The lit LEDS on it are the first and fourth power level lights, the LAN0 and the Power lights. All of them are green.
tnx, great idea on the red indicator light.. :-) sorry for my messy post above, somehow cut / paste went crazy user-error on me..
I looked briefly at some TP products, but seemed less gain, more expensive, and much less availability on the secondary market too.
Think I will stick with M2 M5 and Nanobridge for now.
