Now that there is a new version OS that I had heard takes up less space. Is this still a problem with the hardware that is listed as "AREDN Stable, but, NOT recommended for new deployments. (Low memory or non-MIMO device" in https://www.arednmesh.org/content/supported-platform-matrix ?
Dan, because the newer releases have a somewhat smaller footprint, it'll be easier to get them installed in the older 32MB devices. However, it's still not recommended to run non-MIMO devices in a MIMO environment. Because MIMO devices are dual-polarity, they put half their total power in each antenna. That means a non-MIMO device (single-polarity) will only receive half the power from the MIMO device. That's an automatic 3 dB SNR penalty.
