A couple of members of our mesh group have been doing tests using iperf installed on a pair of computers, one as a server, one as a client.
i see there are two iperf packages available in the "Download Package" utility in Administration.
One Package is iperf, the other is iperf-mt.
Can someone please explain how to use these packages?
thanks de ve3cwu

ignore the iperf-mt package.
Here is the SIMPLE way to use iperf...

No I do not see a service advertisement ( similar to what you see when Mesh Chat installs)
iperf does appear to be installed as I can see it in the "Remove Package" view.
tnx agn de ve3cwu
This may or may not help but has worked for me:
I renamed the three required package files so I can easily find them to install through the GUI. Actually all I did was give them a number prefix. Here are the names of the files on my PC:
I install them in numerical order. The first two install rather quickly. The last one takes quite a bit longer. IperfSpeed will not properly work for me until I reboot the node.

It adds no service announcements but does open some firewall rules for users but its required to be run manually (users are expected to know how to use it before installing it)
the iperspeed package isn't an AREDN package, it requires the iperf package be installed, but it wasn't created by the AREDN team (Trevor wrote it himself) and has its own instructions. installing the iperf package will not install Trevor's iperfspeed (but installing iperfspeed will make you install iperf)
many thanks, 73, bob
