Hi,
Shortly after the news about the BABEL bug was published, we noticed that two of our antennas had gone down. Both are devices with 64MB of RAM, and they handle a fair amount of traffic. A reboot (temporarily) resolved the issue.
Now, it appears this patch is only available for the latest nightly builds (which include these "significant changes to how we manage a device’s network ", about which the developers themselves say, "These changes are not backward compatible, so once a new nightly is installed you cannot restore to 4.26.7.0 without doing a fresh install, and then using a previously created backup. So - do not upgrade to a nightly build unless you have already backed it up, and have physical access in case of issues".
Our antennas are located on hilltops or tall buildings and are difficult to access. I would therefore appreciate it if a patch were made available for the previous firmware version 4.26.1.0 as well as for 4.26.7.0 so that we aren't forced to switch to this new, largely untested technology!
What do you think - any chance ?
Thanks 73s
