We had a Ubiquiti Rocket M5 XW go unresponsive after a reboot with the 4.26.7.0 firmware. No other node on the same LAN segment can establish a link to the rogue node. Power cycling has not restored operation. The node is physically and logistically difficult to impossible to physically access. With a similar Rocket M5 XW I determined that using the reset button on the Ubiquiti PoE will not get the node into firmware recovery mode.
The node alive, but not fully functional. The TOUGHSwitch status display shows tx/rx traffic on the LAN connection. We see transmissions on the node's RF channel with the mesh MAC address. Someone has determined that the MAC address on the LAN is 02:d6:44:a9:d3:f3.
I would like to know what is the current algorithm used to generate the LAN IP address from the LAN MAC address. The method I've found from 2015 is to take the MAC address lowest three bytes as the IP address, and with current nodes, that doesn't seem to be the current algorithm.
Thank you and 73s,
