Just playing with the July 2026 production release and wondering about the difference between the default setting of "Mesh" for which I could not come across a definition.
I have 2 nodes with default configuration of "Mesh" connecting from a distance on channel -1 10 MHz bandwidth 2G. This seems the default/get started setting. Works.
Now I have them set with "Mesh Station" and "PtMP" and the connection works too. Which is the better or what is the difference when distant signals are marginal? Which connects best when signal are on the edge?
Next, linking nodes connected to a Ubiquity NanoStation. Does any of this radio configuration stuff make a difference when both connecting through a hub like this? Practically, can two "Mesh Stations" (which cannot connect with RF by definition) transfer data correctly via a NanoStation?

I think the default on 2.4 GHz is channel '-2' at 10 MHz bandwidth.
I think channel '-1' at any bandwidth overlaps with channel '1' at 20 MHz bandwidth.

'Mesh' is ad hoc mode. Everybody shares the channel using carrier sense multiple access.
'"Mesh Station" and "Mesh PtMP"'
The "Mesh PtMP" polls each "Mesh Station"
"Mesh Station" transmits infrequently until 'polled' by Mesh PtMP.

'better/best' of those 2 choices might be Mesh PtMP and Mesh Station.

A 'hub' would be the 'Mesh PtMP'.
The 'Mesh Stations' are the ''MP's.
