Deployment advice

I am trying to start an ARDEN mesh group in and around the Ann Arbor Michigan area and I am looking for suggestions about what hardware to purchase to get the mesh started off at my house. My first thought was to have an AirRouter HP in my shack for gateway and tunnel service. I would then have a Bullet M2 and an Omni out at my shed for the hams in my neighborhood to get in on the mesh with. I would also have a 100 ft mast/pole attached to the side of the shed for the wide area node(s). Now comes the question, what hardware goes up in the air? As a side note, I would DtD link the wide area gear to the Bullet M2. Right now I have no particular direction I need to point my antenna(s). Because of this I was hoping to have pretty much Omni directional coverage so that anyone can point to me. Is this a good idea? If it is, what would be the most economical and cost effective way to do this? In case this makes any difference, I was thinking that 5 Ghz might be a good place to start for the wide area coverage. Is an Omni a good starting point? I was thinking I should have some gain and was thinking sector antennas would be the way to go. 120 deg., 90 deg., what would be a good idea for sector antennas?

Thanks in Advance and 73,

Suggestions
If you don't have any committed AREDN network hams in your area yet, I would suggest concentrating on the 5.8 GHz and 3.4 GHz bands. Staying away from the 2.4 GHz band, even on our channel -1 and -2 gives you a lot more flexibility and reliability.
Since the 3 GHz gear is more expensive, you may want to use it primarily for long distance, point to point backbone links. The 5.8 GHz gear can be used for local area coverage.
If you are going to deploy an omni antenna, you are better off using a Rocket and the corresponding Ubiquity MIMO Omni antenna. The dual polarization MIMO antenna is much more effective than the single polarization of the Bullet and a vertical.

Which version of the AirRouter HP is the one that works with Aredn? Streakwave has several versions including hp, hpa, hp-us,and hpusa.

XM Vs XW and AirOS version?
Does XM Vs XW hardware version or AirOS version matter with the Airrouter HP?

We haven't seen an XW AirRouter yet.

5 GHz PTP
Hello,

Will 5 GHz work for PTP (Point to Point) links?
