I threw the mesh node in the car today and did some quick range tests during the commute this morning and this evening. Easily made a 28.8 mile path from an area near Denver International Airport and the NCAR mesh node in Boulder. That's a pretty easy path due to a clear line-of-sight situation.
On the way I home, I did a more challenging 40-mile path test, and that turned out to be surprisingly easy, as well. The path was from Parker Adventist hospital in Parker to NCAR in Boulder. The path shoots straight across the Denver metro area and yielded good LQ and NLQ - 100% at times on the LQ.
Always fun to do the range checks. I hope to get a few more locations checked out before winter arrives.

Hey Gary, tell us more! What were each of the nodes, what bands?
The quick setup mesh node on my end is just a Bullet and 17 dBi Yagi on a 6' tripod stand.

At NCAR, I believe they are using a Bullet and L-Com 9 dBi omnidirectional antenna.

We are using channel -2.

Those of us with mountainous terrain are blessed. You can likely cover the entire Denver metroplex with 2-Rocket/sector combos and a 3GHz link between them. It's very similar to what I've built for San Diego county.
