I am following ... somewhat ... the news that routers from TpLink, Mikrotik, and others we use in AREDN are going to be banned from import to the US?
Anyone have correct and up to date information what is actually going on? I understand there might be issues in the factory firmware, but what we use is based on OpenWRT. So there are two embedded questions, leaving aside completely any discussion as to if the govt is correct about a security risk or not.
1 If we flash with AREDN is the security issue (if there is one) resolved, or could it persist in the underlying OpenWRT code?
2 Are many of the devices we rely on going to become un available? Which ones? How soon?
