I have two Bullets (one 900 MHz, the other 2.4 GHz) that are behaving the same way: Upload the latest beta firmware, the node reboots but returns with the release 3.15.1.0 firmware intact. (the 900 MHz Bullet is actually running 3.15.1.0b03 if that makes any difference).
Any suggestions?

On the experimental page, there is a patch "Allow OTA upgrade over slower links"...
Apply it FIRST, then try the OTA upgrade. Sounds like you are hitting some slow links and timing out.
