Babel only to OLSR/Babel

I've got one new QRT5 node on my local network that a friend flashed first time out of the box with the 0916 babel only firmware.  Can I apply the regular nightly over the babel only version, or do I have to go all the way to first boot (press button, etc)?  The node of course is way up high on a mast.
