AREDN and Hamnet ?
Has anyone ever used Hamnet (IP 44.x.x.x) to connect 2 AREDN nodes? Here in Switzerland we have an active Hamnet network and it would be cool to use it to connect several small AREDN meshes. Is it possible? How to do this?

If you go with the tunnel
If you go with the tunnel approach, you will probably be restricted to using the VTUN tunnels not Wireguard. VTUN does not have encryption on the link and I am assuming that your licensing requirements are similar to ours here in the US where you are not allowed to run encryption over an RF channel. I am also making the assumption that the Hamnet network is using some RF links.

You can also look at the cross link functionality with in AREDN. https://docs.arednmesh.org/en/latest/arednHow-toGuides/xlinks.html

Depending upon how you can run traffic across Hamnet you may or may not be able to use cross links. If I remember correctly the traffic between the nodes needs to run on an agreed upon VLAN and that may not be possible with the Hamnet implementation.

Thank you Gerard ! As far I
Thank you Gerard ! As far I know, encryption within RF is also not allowed in Switzerland. I wil check the "cross link" functionnality :-)

Mark N2MH I'm fairly sure
Mark N2MH I'm fairly sure uses 44.x.x.x  on his links.
