not a concise list of acronyms.

Some of the ones I have run
Some of the ones I have run across so far are:  MITM, STA, DHCP, SISO, MIMO, DATV . It is difficult to make sense of the conversation without being able to define these acronyms. I'm sure there are many more.

STA

The bandwidth needs to be within the regulations, but we could request an STA if needed.

I seem to remember that some fairly old models from Alfa could do AP and STA(client) mode simultaneously.
Of the 3 modes of a Wi-Fi device; Access Point(AP), Client(STA), and 'ad-hoc'.

... Other references about the internal doings of Wi-Fi that baffle me.

Here is definition and VERY simplistic descriptions)
MITM = Man In The Middle (a way of hacking)
STA =  beats me without context
DHCP = Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (assigns IP addresses)
SISO = Single Input Single Output (one radio on each end of link)
MIMO = Multiple Input Multiple Output (two radios at each end of a link)
DATV = Digital Amateur TeleVision (ham TV using digital)

I have done a little internet searching in effort to find definitions fo some of the acronyms used in AREDN speech. What follows is the results of my search - not in any particular order.

LQM - Link Quality Manager
DHCP - Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
MITM - Man in the Middle
SISO - Single in Single Out
MIMO - Multiple In Multiple Out
DATV - Digital Amateur Television
DtD - Device to Device
TDMA - Time Division Multiple Access
CSMA - Carrier Sense Multiple Access
OLSR - Optimized Link State Routing
WISP - Wireless internet service provider
FQDN - Fully Qualified Domain Name
BBHN - Broadband Ham Net
STA - Special Temporary Authority

I am still searching for a few others - MAC - FOSS - OSLR which I suspect is atypo of OLSR.

MAC: Media Access Control. Six double hex numbers usually separated by colons.

cgi-bin/sysinfo (network-name MAC):
