ARDEN Net firmware for OpenWRT One won't provide save on page
I've got a BananaPi OpenWRT One router. The base OpenWRT firmware works fine. Upload the ARDEN firmware for the device. Using aredn-3.25.10.0-mediatek-filogic-openwrt_one-squashfs-sysupgrade.itb. Once the firmware is installed,  the initial status page comes up without the ability to save the entries. I'm not sure what is going on. I have followed the troubleshooting process. Reflashed the device several times with the same result. Looking for some options to get this node up and rolling.

ARDEN Net firmware for OpenWRT One won't provide save on page
Hi, Kevin:

Neither does mine.
If I change a setting, like a channel number, I get a Confirm/Revert option.
I do not recall ever seeing a 'save the entries' option.
Which 'trouble shooting process' did your follow?

I don't even got to that page
I don't even got to that page. I get stopped on the initial page after the ARDEN firmware is loaded asking for nodename and password. The save button is grey.

Hi, Kevin:

Exactly what nodename are you using?

I'll post like I've learned
I'll post like I've learned from Chuck ... +1 for Chuck!

I bet he's thinking you forgot that you have to start the node name with an actual call sign.  The newer firmware requires this, although I am sure it does not check the FCC database.  But if you don't have letters and numbers in a valid format you won't be able to save the name.

Drove me crazy the other day when I was just flashing something to put into storage for a future project.  Had to add call sign!  Ed

"Node Name

Begin the node name with your CALLSIGN in all capital letters..."

Using those instructions
Node name: WA4KBM-Node1
Put in the password two times. Yes they match. The nice green button on the instructions to Save & Reboot is greyed out. At this point I can't move forward with the process. I had another thought, is there a restriction on what the password can contain? Nothing is mentioned in the documentation.
Is there a specific version of ARDEN Firmware that I should be using? I've been loading the latest version that matches the device.

Hi, Kevin:

idk.
Try a pain vanilla password. Maybe just letters and/or numbers.
Your Nodename looks fine to me.

I think that
when your nodename and password are acceptable
the save button will be 'not-grayed-out'.

what the password can contain?
The problem was solved with the contents of the password. I had to change the password special characters for it to work. I prefer long and strong passwords for my Admin/Root accounts. I'm now fully in. I posted the documented requirements below for other people that have this issue.

"Set a new administration password for the node. Typically passwords may contain the characters a-z, A-Z, 0-9, period ., dash -, underscore _, exclamation !, and tilde ~. Avoid Linux reserved characters, including but not limited to #, $, &, *, <, >. Enter your new password again in the Retype Password box to verify it is correct. You can click the eye icon at the right of the password fields to toggle between hidden and visible text. The first time a node is configured it will require you to set the password. Be sure to remember or record the password so you can use it for any future administrative tasks on the node."
