Pre-M series Bullets and Loco
Hi to the group. We have come across a few old Bullets and Locos that are Pre-M series. They are labelled Bullet2 and Loco2. Has anyone had luck loading AREDN firmware into these? Sorry if this has been asked and answered before.
Thanks and 73.

Thanks Daryl. Well the price was right, so may we can use them as point-to-point extensions.

Pre-M Bullet2
Hi All, I downloaded the special firmware created by NW-MESH group to my Bullet which I bought on eBay, before finding you don't support it.  But it won't join my BroadbandHamnet Mesh, even though I've matched up SSIDs.  The OLSRD versions are 0.6.6 on the BroadbandHamnet and 0.6.4 on the Bullet2.  Was there a large change between those versions?  Obviously I'm now looking for specifically M series devices and following your advice in a recent video, I'm looking for NanoStations, though the affordable ones are nearly all Loco's, so lower power.  I'm retired so cost is an issue, but the built-in antenna is a bonus on the Nanostation!

Hi Colin,
Hi Colin,
Welcome to the forums.  While I am familar with the NWMesh group, I'm not familiar with the differences in their firmware.
My advice would be to sell the Bullet2 to help fund your M-series device purchase.  ;-)
(and yes, the Nanostation M2 is a better radio)

the NW-MESH Firmware is much

the NW-MESH Firmware is much closer to Protocol revision 0 if I recall correctly (we are currently on Protocol revision 3)

Changes in that time were made to configuration specs to account for new/future needs of networks that put the stock configurations incompatible with the nwmesh firmware out of the box. (DTDLink was one of these features)
