Tunnel request from central Nova Scotia
Hello!

The Dartmouth AmateurRadio club is looking to connect our experimental AREDN mesh environment to the network.  In a perfect world, we'd like a connection to central Canada, and perhaps another to Europe?  Eventually we see one of our sites becoming a regional supernode, but one step at a time!

Thanks, and 73's

becoming a regional supernode
Hi, Keith:

I recommend using the AREDN World Map as a reference and
directly contacting the operators of the stations closest to your desired area
for a tunnel request.

An AREDN Supernode is a good choice for LANs that have become large and cumbersome to manage.
Somewhere around 100 nodes in a single LAN would be a good time to start planning on a supernode.
Please do not 'spin up' a supernode with a LAN of zero to 1 node as some of your nearest CAN neighbors have done.

Yes, we'd be looking at
Yes, we'd be looking at something decently sized before we go to a supernode.  As I said... walk before we run.  We have been running AREDN here for about a year, but entirely air gapped from the rest of the meshed world.  We wanted to get comfortable with our Mikrotik wireless kit, and the Proxmox based VM core first.

Thanks, and 73s de Keith - VE1JKB
