Winlink RMS with MESH instead of Internet
Im trying to setup a Winlink VARA FM RMS.  But instead of using an Internet connection, I want to use our local AREDN MESH.
I know how to connect to the local Network Post Office on Winlink Express.
I know that I need to setup RMS Relay as a Network Post Office and have it point to the existing local Network Post Office.
What I don't know is exactly what settings to use in RMS Relay.  Can Someone help?

Chuck, that doc is for folks
Chuck, that doc is for folks who want to configure RMS Express, Gerry is asking about configuring RMS Relay.

Gerry, two things.  First, Winlink has changed the client program so the doc referenced is now out of date.  There are functional changes to how a user sends a message, you compose a "Winlink Message" if you want it to be handled by CMS, and you compose a "Post Office" message if you want to have it handled by RMS.  The messages will not cross over by themselves.  I'm preparing a presentation for a meeting in June and don't have any new references I can share with you now but it's all changed a bit to accomodate AREDN.  We've created a mini mesh of linked Post Offices that act like a mini cloud so when internet fails our message database is not single point failure.

The key think in Relay is to pay close attention in Site Settings to the ip address of your connection.  That is the key to linking the VARA and the AREDN sides together.

Thanks Ed,
Thanks Ed,
I do not want to switch to the new Post Office mode.  I want Relay to operate as normally used with an Internet Transport.  Im just trying to have it use AREDN MESH as the Transport layer.  When I send a message to my local AREDN MESH via Winlink Express, I do not have to change the message type.

I was hoping someone has done this and can copy me with the settings for Relay.

Messages going forward must
Messages going forward must be designated as Post Office or Winlink, similar to how you designate as Peer to Peer when composing.  This is no longer optional.

If you clearly explain ... the user using Express is in this location with which resource available, and needs to get the information either into a Post Office on AREDN for pickup, or place into the CMS system ... then I might be able to help.  Your inquiry so far is not precise.
