Captive Portal
Hi there! I want to enhance your Wi-Fi network's functionality by setting up a captive portal. The main objective is to provide emergency information to anyone who connects to your Wi-Fi network during an emergency without requiring a password. However, I understand that AREDN does not support captive portals, but I have learned that this feature is available on OpenWRT devices. I would like to know if you have ever integrated a captive portal into AREDN. It would be great to hear your thoughts and suggestions on this matter.

Captive / Splash
I just had a similar idea. The goal would be that when disaster response personnel connect their laptops to the local AREDN node (via LAN or WiFi), they would see a start page with links to, for example, the Citadel Server or TicketsCAD.
I read something somewhere about an “AREDN-SPLASH” package, which, according to the description, would be just right, but unfortunately I can't find it anywhere.
Has anyone ever done anything like this and can give me some tips?
Many thanks, 73s Kurt HB9XCL

Off hand, my suggestion for
Off hand, my suggestion for that would be to have a separate WiFi and network for your captive portal and whatever you are connecting to it, and then have that connect to an AREDN node to get to any remote devices.  That would give you far better control of what the non-hams connecting your captive portal would be able to access.
