Best application to start with for testing/experimenting?
Hi Team,
I've got a few Morse Micro nodes all programmed up.

What application would you suggest is easy to set up, and will test connections well?
I'm looking for something more than a ping.
Meshchat seems very old, the website had postings from 2016, but is it still easily used?
Looked at TeamTalk, but holding off because it requires a server to be established.

Anyone use WebRTC?

Thoughts?
I'm looking for easy installation and use, so we can start moving nodes around and testing signal integrity.

A Camera?
Modern cameras (at least the bullet-type) aren't expensive and are easy to configure.   Reolink and Amcrest both work well.   Given the comparitvely  limited throughput, crank the camera resolution and frame rate down a bit.

You're suggesting a camera with RTSP output? Accessed over the AREDN link?
I've thought of that...
... I guess I could use a camera with a web interface, then on the "receiving end" just a laptop with a web browser.  That would be very simple to set up ..

Yes, an IP camera.  Many
Yes, an IP camera.  Many cameras can deliver mpeg directly, but usually at terrible performance but it might be good enough for your initial demo.  Browsers will not display rtsp so that means you also have to install a camera server like Motioneye to ingest the feed and output mpeg to the viewer who is on a browser.  You can for a simple demo possibly use vlc to grab and show a camera feed.  

The cameras made available with hyperlinks on the mesh usually are from Motioneye.  Good luck, Ed

For basic connectivity
For basic connectivity testing each node has several tools, including ping, traceroute, and iPerf3.  Nothing else to install if you just want to test throughput, etc.

Teamtalk setup
If you're comfortable with the command line on Linux, you can get through the server setup reasonably well.  The README file contains the most current instructions on how to do it.
