Power Raspberry PI4 from HAP AC3 USB?
Hi,

I wonder if it is possible to power a raspberry pi4 from the USB connector of a mikrotik hAP AC3 ..anybody already tried this (with or without success...)?

On occasion I have used the USB port on a hAP ac lite to provide power.  It is not a lot of power like some USB C devices would expect but does work.

However ... if you have to boot, reconfigure ... or do anything to the hAP you drop power un ceremoniously to your other device.  I don't think the power is pass thru while the hAP is off ... so while I might use this for temp wiring I always prefer to have each device on it's own power supply.  

I once used the hAP to power a dumb switch I was using for extending LAN.  When I would power up, the devices would all come online at the same time which gave me a bad sequence of finding and assigning ip addresses ... it's just clunky.  It's now on it's own power supply.  If you have power it's easy to make USB 5V somewhere.
