Mesh status display option
I would like to enter a feature request to add an option to block display of multiple paths between neighbor nodes. This occurs when a dtdlinked node is also connected via RF.  The result is wasted screen real-estate, especially in the node offers services.

Thanks,

Richard,  I'm the culprit
Richard,  I'm the culprit that put in the dual paths ;).   I'd like to start re-writing the entire UI in LUCI/LUA and leverage tons of stuff from OpenWRT, but this is a major rewrite of most things and something the entire AREDM team would need to start focusing on--won't happen overnight.  Consequently, I'm caught between devoting more work on the existing vs spending time to change the game.   Could you clarify, maybe with a picture or example, of what you mean by "block display"?   The duplicated services are the wasted space--the 2 paths have unique characteristics that add value.  One option is to simply drop the redundant services and only show once.

Showing both actually pre
Showing both actually pre-dates you Joe.

DTDLink and RF has always been displayed.

I can't speak positively on the services showing up, part of me wants to say that might be new if it's happening but the rest of me also says It's not something I really looked at that close and might also predate you.  Would have to load an older image file to find out for sure.

Fair enough, prior versions

Fair enough, prior versions had duplications for mid, dtdlink, and rf combinations and were showing in both neighbors and remote at the same time.   Let's just say that after I cleaned all this up, I intentionally put the 2 paths in for the neighbors by design and not by accident :) .

Examples of proposed display option

Joe:

Here are three images to illustrate the feature request: Current mode, Proposed default mode, Proposed expanded mode.

A thing to think about for a new ui... would be to see the nodes ranked by link quality. I don't completely agree with Richard, its a little annoying when all the nodes are on the same band. While setting up a hub at nb6gc with 4nodes and 3 on different bands it comes in handy to see dups. It helped me trubble shoot a cable problem.

Note I am requesting a change in the default. But, with a control to optionally display all nodes.  Look at the last of the 3 images.

Yes, sorting by any desired
Yes, sorting by any desired column, for both remote and neighbor, is a desired feature in mind.  Remote is currently sorted by ETX (and would like to optionally sort by callsign).   Neighbor columns do not have a sort with opportunity to add sort options by TxMbps, LQ, NLQ, or callsign.   This sort capability would be problematic to expand out the dual path if they are sorted apart from each other--will have to figure that out when crossing that bridge.
