Upgrade to 3.22.8.0 WAN disabled
After upgrading to v. 3.22.8.0 in the WAN column, the option hallow other to use my WAN  has disappeared.
I suppose that I need a new setting in the advanced configuration. Looking forward to the info on how to do it .
Thanks!

Thanks so much for your kind answer! Of course, I have read the docs, and I posted because something in the docs is not clear to me.
With the v. 3.22.6.0 my bullet M5 is showing the column WAN of the basic setup :
  Advanced WAN Access
Allow others to
use my WAN

Prevent LAN devices
from accessing WAN

With v. 3.22.8.0 the Advanced WAN access is missing.
Why?

Which should be the settings in the "Advanced Configuration" for the WAN section ?:

sorry.   My apologies for the brief reply.  See the AdvCfg page screenshot below.   Make sure that you hover over the ? icon on the AdvCfg page for details about each setting.  I also clarified the release notes on this topic.  I'll check to see how we can improve the docs section on this as well.

The docs page that relates is here: https://arednmesh.readthedocs.io/en/3.22.8.0/arednGettingStarted/advanced_config.html#advanced-configuration
(Scroll down to the WAN Settings section)

Hope this helps...

WAN Settings
Thanks, Darryl for the clarification! I'll check the suggested settings in the Advanced Configuration. Perhaps I wrongly expect to see again the option "Allow others to use my WAN" with a checkbox in v.3.22.8.0   (as was with v.3.22.6.0) ?

You last screen shot and text
You last screen shot and text states that you attempted to change the WAN VLAN to VLAN 0 and that was not taken.  That would be correct.  There is no such thing as VLAN 0 - that an invalid number.  VLANs normally are allowed to be 1 - 4095 (some devices restrict that some more).

I'm not sure that I am

I'm not sure that I am understanding the question.

The screenshot that you shared INDEED proves that the "Advanced WAN Access" settings were removed from the Basic Setup page (as we intended).
These settings were moved to the Advanced Config page as you show in the last screenshot.

I'm also curious, what browser (and version) are you using when you captured that screenshot of the AdvCfg page?    On yours, the "on/off" boolean values are still showing the old "CHECKBOX" control.    It should be showing as a ON/OFF slider switch.

Sorry
Hi Darryl I misunderstood your post, sorry for that! In fact, hovering over the question marks of the Advanced Configuration and reading carefully the info, I got the point and now all is clear. Thanks for your patience.
I am using Crome.

It DID move with 3.22.8.0

Curious to know the thought process behind moving it to the Advanced section?  I "think" I prefer the previous format with the checkbox.  Maybe of a sign of more feature to come regarding WAN?

Moved those settings based on many requests

Tom, the previous location on Basic Settings had a label that identified those two fields as Advanced settings, so it made sense to include them with all the other advanced settings on the Advanced Configuration page.  The main reason for moving them was to help people think about exactly what they are doing when selecting them.  When they were on the Basic page it made it too easy for less experienced people to click them without understanding the implications of routing Internet traffic over an FCC Part 97 network.  Several active AREDN groups around the country requested for quite a while that those settings be moved to the Advanced page.  People can still enable them, but having them on the Advanced page seems the better place for them.

Lost too

I am also lost too.  I have some nodes that can access the wan and some that can't.  I tried to disable the WAN (with the thought of re-enabling) and WAN is still working for some and not others.  For those of us who don't completely understand the new documentation could a screen shot be provided on what sliders should be on/off that will re-created the functionallity of the old "simple" check box?

Thank you!
That is very helpful and thanks for taking the extra time do that! Changes are coming fast and furious and we appreciate the efforts of the  AREDN team!
