Mesh Chat on a Rasberry Pi

I have followed  Trevor Paskett - K7FPV Instructions on his WEB site for the Raspberry Pi install, I think to the letter. I have done some research and rechecked the install and it does not work.

There are two problems.
1)  it never updates from other mesh chat nodes.
2)  I get a lock error when trying to send.

Search the forums for meshchat

This has come up many times.  Check this thread and many others:

https://www.arednmesh.org/content/pi-meshchat-error-sending-message

Check these things:

1)  You need to provide the appropriate file-level permission to the temp lock file
2) Zone must be "MeshChat" (exactly)
3) Add TCP Port forwarding - 8080 - to your node pointed at the MeshChat server
4) Check other meshchat servers within your area of the mesh to check syncing

Hope that helps.

2) It is.
3) tried this when using port 8080 cant find the page. Browser times out. Without a port number I get the login screen.
4)how do I check syncing on some one else's server?

Wes,  I had the same problem, I think.  After reading through the topic on the forum I finally pieced together a solution.  Check this post from me.

Got it working
Thanks for all your help.
restarting the Pi after permission change, copy .service file edit the .service file. Restarting Apache2 did not do it. restsrting the Pi did it.
