TP-Link CPE610 - Low Power

I just purchased a tp-link cpe 610, and flashed it with the latest firmware.  Everything went very well with the flashing.  Unfortunately, I can only push the power up to 15dbm which I believe is only around 30mw.  The version I have is 1.  Am I missing something?  I thought these things were upwards of 27dbm?

Thanks,

Leonard/WV3P

Try some different channels - away from band edge and in the Amateur allocations.  I recall that there may be some limitations on some of the TP Link Firmware or program algorithms.  I ran into this a while back.  There may be other discussion on these forums regarding this.

I moved the channel to 180, hit apply, and magically the drop down menu for setting tx power showed a maximum of 27dbm.  When I save it, and reboot it comes back as 25dbm.  Is this a bug?

TPlink power limits
TPlink has manufactured settings in the flash that are limiting the power.  For the CPE610v1:

133 => '15', 141 => '26', 143 => '25' , 149 => '15' , 165 => '14', 166 => '25'

Interpret this as channels at 133 and above can be set to 15dBm.  Channels at 141 and above can be set to 26 dBm, channels at 143...

These limits can be found on a node in /www/cgi-bin/perlfunc.pm

Thanks for the reply Joe.  I finally figured out that if I set the cpe610 to channel 180, it would let me set the power to 27dbm.  After I saved it mulitple times, and rebooted it would always come back as 25dbm.  At that point I figured it was something within the firmware that wouldn't let me do that.  The unit works fine for my use with the node set at 25dbm.  In fact, I've had far more success with this unit than any of the other powerbeams I've tried.  I'm very happy with it, at least in the short term.

Leonard,  confirm, the AREDN
Leonard,  confirm, the AREDN basic setup screen allows a setting on ch 180 @ 27dBm for a cpe610 v1 (and v2) device?  The definition for the UI should only allow a high setting of 25dBm.

Hi Joe, here's a screenshot of the cpe610 power slider.  It shows 27dbm.  You can select it, but it won't save.  I'm getting ready to head out the door for a road trip, and I just noticed that the power slider covered the channel selector.  It is set to 180.
