I have a GL-AR150 running the latest 3.20.3.0. When I try to USB tether to my Iphone it doesnt work. I dont even get the trust popup on my phone. I see that my phone charges. Anyone doing this with any luck? I was hoping to tunnel back to my main Mesh node. Looking to use this for MESH demo's and when I work remote.
Thanks for your help

When using a device with OpenWRT software that has the ability to USB tether phones or that will support LTE USB dongles, there are usually a lot of drivers and utility packages loaded onto that device. AREDN has none of that software. In fact, I believe the 'regular' AREDN firmware load doesn't even have usb-utils or even USB storage capability in its default state. So the only thing the USB port gives you in its default state is 5V power.
When I get less busy I would love to port the necessary packages and drivers over to the GL-iNet and MikroTik devices that have USB ports (and the internal USB-based Mini-PCIe slot on the BaseBox devices) so that we can attach cellular devices for many different emergency reasons. For example, one of the LTE modems my company uses is a FirstNet capable modem. The nexus of FirstNet in our amateur radio/emergency operations community here in northern Virginia is prolific. Imagine combining FirstNet capabilities with AREDN in an emergency situation - in one BaseBox sitting up on a rooftop or tower, powered by a single solar panel. It's like chocolate and peanut butter - yum!

Yes it would make for an interesting mix for sure. I look forward to this capability soon.

@K9CQB - I was wondering if the USB Utilities you referred to on 4/7/2020 have been added to the curent AREDN package. I'm using a GLI AR-150 and Mesh Chat. I would be very useful to be able to have more than 512KB available for file storage. Tethering an iPhone would also be very useful.
