Is it 'RBLHG-2nD-XL' or 'RBLHG-2HPnD-XL'?

Is it 'RBLHG-2nD-XL' or 'RBLHG-2HPnD-XL'?

I really wanted to find the best 2.4GHz high-gain point-to-point dish to close some links at some sites that already have 5GHz equipment on them. But I still want to spread the love of a 2.4GHz AREDN node in the general direction of that community that we are shooting over, making it easy for them to get on the mesh network. So one of the options on the supported list was the RBLHG-2HPnD-XL. I scrubbed the internet for them, but could find them. So I thought it was a typo and bought the RBLHG-2nD-XL. And then I found out the real deal:

So... there is no MikroTik RBLHG-2HPnD-XL, like there is with the 5GHz models (RBLHG-5HPnD-XL).
*(see attached photo of Supported Platform Matrix)

There is only the 'non-high-power' RBLHG-2nD-XL, which shares the same board as the RBLHG-2nD, but with a higher gain dish.
*(see attached photo of the board I removed from the RBLHG-2nD-XL).

I'm not sure if that was a typo or a cut-and-paste error on the supported matrix spreadsheet, or what.
By the way, the RBLHG-2nD and RBLHG-2nD-XL also share the same board as the LDF-2. So it looks like we are putting a few eggs in the basket of getting the LDF-2 up and running. It's great that we have 7 devices (including QRT-5) from MikroTik that do 5GHz, but only 2 that do 2.4GHz (if you count the hAP-ac-lite).

So I now have a RBLHG-2nD-XL sitting here that won't load the .elf file or hand out DHCP, or load AREDN - just like what happened with the LDF-2. After all, they're basically the same board. Please let me know how I can help.

Attached Photos for 'RBLHG-2nD-XL' or 'RBLHG-2HPnD-XL' dilemma.

I'm sorry I could figure out how to attach the photos on an initial post, so here they are:

LHG-2nD boards
Damon,  been traveling last week and this week.  Back home the 18th, so hope to spend some time on this board then.

How can I help?
Joe,
I feel like you're always carrying the heavy development burden on a lot of the same things that interest me.
And I always feel like I'm not helping enough. Is there anything I can do from Virginia to help your efforts?
Also, I was wondering who can edit the 'Supported Platform Matrix' spreadsheet to fix the spelling on the RBLHG-2nD-XL and turn it red for now (or remove it).

I've corrected the SPM.
I've corrected the SPM.  Thanks for the info.  I left it as YELLOW (investigating) for now.

Unable to load AREDN to a RBLHG-2nD-XL

I'm having a heck of a time loading AREDN software on a RBLHG-2nD-XL also.  I receive the bad gateway message via the web interface so I've tried from the scp and shell and it seems my hardware type is unknown?  Is this device supported? I too was looking for the highest gain, most directional 2.4G radio to link over a pretty good distance.

Here's what I'm seeing in the shell:

I've tried again rebooting, starting from scratch and using the nightly with the same results.

Hopefully this information is helpful:

board_name : unknown
boardid : MikroTik RouterBOARD RBLHG-2nD-XL

What else should I try?
Thank you,

yes, this is the needed info.
yes, this is the needed info.  I don't think Mikrotik can make their mind up on the model string designation for this device:

1) "MikroTik RouterBOARD LHG 2nD-XL"
2) "MikroTik RouterBOARD RBLHG 2nD-XL"
3) now it is "MikroTik RouterBOARD RBLHG-2nD-XL"

This is a straight forward change, just need to update the images to add this string so the firmware can detect what device it is on.   I'll shortly post a link to download images so you can test and confirm before submitting into the nightly build.

Force install
I was able to load the firmware from the command line using the force option. Not sure about reliability yet. I have it configured, but I'm not able to maintain a connection to it over the radio.

Try these... Bad Gateway

So I tired to load using the GUI from the version I've forced install... I still receive bad gateway.
Also noticing I don't have access to channel -2 ?

Same error on the command line. This time I have not tried to force the installation.
Will this radio support channel -2 ?

Please try loading, starting
Please try loading, starting with the .elf process, as if it had Mikrotik firmware running.   the current AREDN image probably doesn't recognize the hardware it is on, to know if the image being loaded is compatible.

Next attempt at loading via PXE
I've booted the .elf image and visited the web interface. I no longer see the unsupported error message, however I see bad gateway when attempting to load form the web GUI.
From the command line, things still fail as they did before with 'unknown not yet supported' being the message.

I'm attempting a force install now.

Will this radio even support channel -2 ?

Thank you for your assistance.

latest after force install
So after the forced installation, we've gone backwards. It's unresponsive after rebooting.

Another update
After repeating the process a second time, passing the -F and also -n to default the configuration, it appears we're back online and ready to be configured.
I now do see a channel -2 ;-)  That's exciting news!

I was unable to load using another browser in a private window or any other way with the web GUI. Always seeing 'Bad Gateway'.
But it is working from the shell now... ;-)

n0nki,   The changes are in
n0nki,   The changes are in the current nightly build images.    Your device will likely not accept the sysupgrade unless using the force option, or start with the .elf to load.   It would be best to get to the nightly build instead of the private build image currently running.
