Support for Mikrotik rb-952ui-5ac2nd
I am experiencing a problem with the Mikrotik rb-952ui. Sorry if this has already been documented but I have not found it stated this way.
Scenario 1 - If I set the RF for 2397MHz / 5MHz and connect port 5 to a unmanaged switch and then to a nearby NanoBridge on 2397MHz / 5MHz (also plugged into the same switch), the Mikrotik sees the NanoBridge via dtd but not via RF. It does not see a NanoStation on 2397MHz / 5MHz which is only 30 feet away, on the same frequency, via RF.

Scenario 2 - If I disconnect Mikrotik port 5 and connect port 3 to the same unmanaged switch, it sees the NanoBridge via RF not via dtd, but does not see the more distant NanoStation via RF. It does see the NanoStation via the RF connection from the NanoBridge, to the NanoStation.

I would expect the Mikrotik to connect to BOTH other devices via RF, in Scenario 2. It seems to me that the Mikrotik either has extremely short range on 2397MHz / 5MHz or this is the same 10MHz problem again, but perhaps it 'sees' the very near NanoBridge, only because it is very close, but cannot see the NanoStation which is 30 feet away.

This router board has so many options that it could be very handy. Just trying to get my head around what works and what doesn't. Has anyone else experienced the above problem or do I have a defective unit?
Thanks for your time.

Darryl,

Darryl,
Thanks very much for the link to the github. Oh well. I wonder if anyone has tested this on (conventional) channel 4, for example, rather than channel -2? I will try to cobble that together and see what happens.
Rick

added note - I tried channel 4 to see if there was an RF path to a ubiquiti. Nope channel 4 does not work either.
