AREDN Release 3.25.10.0 with 802.11ah Support

The AREDN Dev team has released version 3.25.10.0 of the AREDN software,
This is a maintenance release primarily designed to stabilize the current OLSR+Babel network before the switch to a Babel only system next year.
New Product Support
  • None
Enhancements
  • Improve consistency of neighbor status display
  • Remove random sleeps; now babel stop is synchronous
  • Delay restarting firewall so we don’t do it for every tunnels’ startup
  • Merged two sets (older & newer) of memory config code
  • Further tweak the minimum memory settings
  • Backport free memory changes from babel-only
  • Fix issues with hidden node detection
  • Improve HTMODE ("High Throughput mode”) selection, depending on hardware & firmware
  • Aggressively turn down HTMODE support on error
  • Improve selection of hostapd and wpa_supplicant, as needed
  • Improve babel monitoring
  • Set babel LQ monitoring requirement to 50% to trigger babel restart (it’s a monitor which looks at radio links and if they seem solid but for some reason Babel is not connecting the nodes, it will restart Babel to fix the problem.)
  • Add missing ucode dependency (was being implicitly included)
  • Monitor Babel and restart if necessary.
  • Use EFI/x86 upgrades when necessary.
Bug fixes
  • Tunnel server goes into continuous reboot cycle when rebooted - until WAN cable is unplugged
  • Supernode load soars upon startup - then locks up
  • Converted supernode to Babel-only. Now only sees a fraction of tunnels, and can't reach them
  • Mikrotik hAP ac2 in reboot cycle after committing a Wireguard tunnel
  • Babel and Camera Operation vs 3.25.2.0
  • node_lqm_tracker_mode gauge is not numeric
Note: The following 802.11ah devices now are supported by AREDN but are only in the Babel Nightly builds
  • HaLowLink 1 MM-HL1-EXT
  • Heltec HT-HD01
  • Heltec HT-HD7608
  • Alfa Tube-AHM
  • Alfa Tube-AHM PoE (802.3af/at)
