Steve AB7PA

Steve’s main focus with the AREDN® team is to create and update online documentation.  He also enjoys testing new firmware and features on different types of hardware.  In addition he is creating YouTube videos that walk through procedures for accomplishing various tasks on AREDN® devices and networks.  His main interest is providing useful information that will encourage others to take full advantage of Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network technology.

Steve first obtained his Amateur Radio license (KCØEUW) in Colorado, where he served with local ARES and RACES groups. After retiring to the Phoenix area he obtained a region seven callsign (AB7PA) and spends much of his free time assisting fellow hams as they get involved with the Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network project.

He began his career as a teacher, but spent the bulk of his working years in various computer-related occupations. Steve served as a system and network engineer for several major corporations, including United and Southwest Airlines, Starz, and Oracle, before moving into consulting groups which designed and implemented large scale Industrial Wireless networks.  In retirement he continues to do research, writing, and book publishing.
